This is a continuation of my 'G25' problem. I've had the Logi Quickcam working again, but it intermittently goes to almost zero frame rate. The problem is not isolated to the G25. It occurs when almost any other USB device is present.
The problem is most prevalent when trying to use an old Microsoft Sidewinder 2 Force Feedback joystick. I get an error saying that bandwidth for the USB hub is exceeded. I have not been able to get the camera/head tracking working at the same time as the FFB joystick. I have been able to get the head tracking to work with the G25. I've also used it with a non-force feedback USB CH flight yoke. My computer's device manager says that I have two USB hubs available. If I could put the Camera on one hub and the controllers on the other hub I think everything would be OK. There are four on-board USB ports accessible at the back of the computer case. I also have two remote ports on the front of the case that are attached to jumper pins on the mother board. The problem is, no matter where I plug in the USB devices, they always show up on the same hub. I've tried plugging the remote ports into all three USB jumper positions on the Mobo, but they all seem to be connected to the same hub. So, I guess I need some help with general USB setup. Hope someone can give me some suggestions! Freetrack works really well when I get everything working. I've done a little driving in rFactor, and Freetrack also works in ARCA Sim Racing. I also did some flying in FSX last night. Thanks, Pat Dotson |

Do you have a windows XP Pro SP2 OS or Windows XP Home ?
Because 20 % of USB bandwidth is reserved on Windows XP Pro ... (it's possible to changed this by a registry key) But i think it's a USB power problem (500ma by port Max : 2 ports in same connexion = 500ma / 2 = 250 ma ...), try to use USB auto-alim HUB for your Logitech G25 Force Feedback Wheel to solved this kind of problem ... Here the solution to your USB Bandwidth Problem : it's in french .... Use Google to translate (sorry) : http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/sujet-719-windows-xp-liberer-20-de-la-bande-passante

I have XP Pro.
I followed the instructions on the web site you posted, but it doesn't seem to apply to USB. I think it only applies to networking. After following the instructions and restarting the computer it's still reserving USB bandwidth. Is it possible to edit USB bandwidth reserve in the registry? Pat Dotson |

Thanks for the suggestion. I did update my bios already. I'll take a look at updating the motherboard drivers next.
I bought a USB PCI expansion card today too. I may just install it and be done with it. A new USB card should fix it right? Pat Dotson |

I installed the new PCI card with 2 USB ports. It took care of all the problems. Now I have a Logitech G25, MS Sidewinder 2 FFB Joystick, CH USB Flight Yoke, and another USB cable to run my G-Seat (http://ultraforcesim.com) all plugged into my mobo USB ports, and have the Quickcam plugged into the USB card. Everything is working perfectly.
Thanks! Pat Dotson |

I just wanted to confirm the same G25 problem. I've a bunch of Logitech peripherals all plugged into a single USB 2.0 bus (my mobo only has one USB bus). If you watch regular webcam output when the G25 goes in, the thing just freezes up. The webcam driver was showing USB utilisation at 75%.
I too purchased a PCI USB 2.0 card and installed and it fixed my issue too. List of things on my USB: - Logitech G5 mouse - Logitech G15 keyboard - Logitech G25 wheel (see a pattern?) - Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 |
