hello zundap

you can find them By Farnell Portugal

CAUTION :
There's an error in the farnell description.
SFH485 forward voltage is 1.5V, not 3V as they indicate. So be carefull when calculating resistors.

btw :
if you have difficulties to get SFH485P, most of the IR leds work with Freetrack once sanded to increase beam angle.

If you don't intent to IR mod your webcam , better try to find 880nm IR leds. Unmodded webcams track them far better than 940nm leds.

If you plan to IRmod your webcam, then every IR led is suitable once sanded.

But for sure, it's easier to directly get SFH485P

I tell you all this , just in case ......

Hello zundap.

The link I provided in the first message is the link to the SFH485P version of the IR led

This version has a 160° angle beam (or 80° half-angle), so its OK

use the link or search for this ref at farnell : 1212738

Hello zundap.

I personnally prefer making 3dots clip, because i usually wear a headset (and so do my friends too).

If you don't use a headset, or use a neck type headset, then you should go for a 3dot cap.

If you use a headset, then (IMO), you'd go for a 3dot clip, so you don't need to wear a cap.

hi tristan68, Farnell only sells > 30€ to ship, as i only want the leds , i had to order somewhere else...

I found and ordered the 40º angle beam, maybe if i sand them off they could be perfect for the use :)

i should get them tomorrow or so, i'll build the 3dot clip, since i also use a headset ;)

thanks!
