been searching and looking for solutions both here and on the site where I downloaded the driver software but not found anything yet that has cured my problem...so thought I would ask here and see if any of you clever folk can help me.

I have installed the driver software and freetrack patches as per instructions but when starting the CL-eye test program I get a message saying

"Sorry, you have no video capture hardware. Video capture will not function properly"

And there is no camera available to select when I start Freetrack.

I am on windows Vista sp2

I have also checked that the camera is working by testing it through a ps3.

Any one know about this and can enlighten me please

if that cl-eye test program can't see your ps3 then freetrack can't either.
I think something went wrong with installing the cl-driver for your ps3-eye.
The things you can try are, uninstall the cl-eye stuff and freetrack. You can use a tool name revo-uninstaller for a thorough clean removal of cl-eye stuf and freetrack.
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
Just take the free version.
Besure that you have unplugged your ps3-eye.
If everything is uninstalled let your pc restart.DOn'T plugin you ps3 eye, first install the cl-eye drivers  then plug in your ps3-eye.If it now works in that cl-eye test software, instal version 2.2.0.279 of freetrack with that freetrck patch and I hope you got it working.Sometimes you have to change usb-port.
Try to install everything with admin right and turned of UAC(=user account control)

Hi Stormrider....thanks for the help, just downloaded the program you suggested and tried a full re-install after restarting pc etc....but unfortunately with exactly the same results. still no video capture hardware.

I am on vista 64 bit and ran the driver install as administrator and UAC is off.

any other thoughts on this problem? just reconfigured all my usb plugs and tried the camera in various slots...still same message though CL-eye test.

When I plug the camera in, windiws loads the drivers and says device ready for use....and as I said it shows up correctly in device manager.....I really dont undrstand why it isnt actually working or being recognised by the software that came with the drivers.

Hi Stormrider,

I used to have a working freetrack,
now suddenly it does not work.

Some people suggested it might be caused by CL Eye new driver.
For PS3 Eye, which version do you suggest?
Please advise.

Regards,
Aladin

I use version 5.3.0.341  dated from 6-12-2012.It is an older one, but as long as it works I don't care.

I used to have a working freetrack,
now suddenly it does not work.

Does it crash or doesn't the skull move?Did you check if your setup and the ps3-eye are still working correct?

Ps3 Eye works perfectly,
as long as I do not press "start" button on freetrack.

As soon I press "start" button, I get this error:
Access violation at address 7C90100B in module 'ntdll.dll'

then the ps eye won't work anymore.
To get it to work again I have to reinstall the ps3 cl driver.

After reinstall, I can test PS3 eye with CL-Eye Test,
and it works.
Facetracknoir works too

But if I try freetrack again, it won't work again.

I use facetracknoir-point tracker plug in for now,
it works perfectly and does not have any error with the ps3 eye.

I use CLEye version 5.3.0.0341

However, there is a game that I want to check with freetrack,
since I get odd result with facetracknoir.

Do you know what is wrong?
I have tried to reinstall, however, the result is the same,
I still get that same access violation error.

check if you use in freetrack and in in cl-eye test the same fps.Choose for a test 30 fps.

That error code is caused  by wrong removal or instal of software, it can be all sort of software. What or when it went wrong I don't know.Sometimes you can solve this by a 100% removal of freetrack, ftnoir and the cl-eye software and install again. But you  already did.
In your case it says that there is something wrong with ntdll.dll.
what you can try is run the sfc command to repair window files. On the following site they explain how to do it.They can do it better then I can.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm
If it does't work do a system restore to the date/time that it al still worked.

However, there is a game that I want to check with freetrack,
since I get odd result with facetracknoir.

Which game and what odd result?

>Which game and what odd result?
janes fa18.

with facetracknoir, I can not look up more than 45 degrees.
If I do, the view switch to the back view.

I think the culprit might be in the game since I never have these issues with other games, but I want to make sure of it.

Thanks for all the help and advices.
I really appreciate it very much.

Your ps3-eye isn't loosing your 3 dots?
It is strange indeed, the possible thing what can cause such a thing are:
model not calibrated ( this function Is something I definitely miss in freetrack),
webcam looses the dots, or not haven't install the hotfix.they changed by accident the pitch up for pitch down(max90degrees) Spoilerhttp://sourceforge.net/projects/facetracknoir/files/

or the setting  enable reverse axist  is enabled

There is something missing, to solve this you must uninstall everything of Cl-eye like it has never been installed on your pc.
Disconnectyour ps3-eye

After this you can use a tool like revo-uninstaller for uninstalling cl-eye stuff
http://www.revouninstaller.com/start_freeware_download.html

Before you start:   MAKE A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Install revo uninstaller
BUT after this restart your pc and let ccleaner cleanup your registry.
https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Install cl-eye driver and software with admin rights and after this connect your webcam.
If you connect your ps3-eye before installing the right drivers/software there is a chanche that windows installs drivers for it what can give problems like this.
I hope this will solve your problem.
