Hello
I am in the process of building the free track system. I have bought a Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000. I removed the IR filter and added exposed negative to the front of the camera ok.
I have not built the cap clip yet because my parts are on order, but I was playing around with free track using a remote control.
I first noticed I am getting around 20 fps.
I then changed the webcam setting to outdoor and it goes up to about 23 or 24 fps, but alot of jitter (About 7-15).

Could somebody that has a VX-1000 tell me what their settings are?
Mine are:
Mirror Image, Flip Image, Low Light=ALL NOT CHECKED
Brightness 0
Contrast 1.30
Gamma 0.60
Hue -7
Saturation 1.50
Sharpness 4.00
Outdoor=CHECKED. Indoor=not checked.
USB Bandwidth auto=Checked. 5.
Exposure=0 but option to uncheck AUTO exposure is greyed out, I can't turn it off.
White Balance Red=Auto
White Balance Blue=Auto

Thank you

Did it work? Did you use 'Enable Button' or 'Force Exposure'?

I could not get the force exposure to work for some reason, not sure why. But I did download the enable button program and it allowed me to uncheck the autoexposure checkbox. works like a charm now, getting 30fps and 00 jitter.
I am making a video of how to put this thing together for my friends on my racing team, I will send the video to you when I get done with it, I am still waiting on the power supply I ordered, should be end of this week.
Thanks again for all the help!
