Hi guys,
So yesterday i picked up the X-Plane 10 demo. Before i go ahead and buy the whole thing i would like to test out freetrack in it. Does anyone know how to get freetrack working with X-PX? I've seen a post about "pilotview" but that does not work for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Aneu.

you must have Pilot View plugin, and in freetrack select trackir interface. It should work :)

In pilotview control panel, in game, it says trackir not found or not installed. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
NOTE: I have trackir interface enabled, freetrack is running too.

Ugh, seems to me like i'm running 64bit XPX. I'm not 100% sure, but it would explain the issue.

OKAY... It seems that recently X-Plane 10 has been updated to 64bit. Which is good: it utilizes more RAM etc. However, Freetracks NPClient.dll is NOT 64bit compatible (something like that). I believe there are hacks etc. to get past this as someone did for DCS: World.

Now back to X-Plane 10! It seems that Freetrack dev team has somewhat ditched the project, and not improving compatibility as of yet. So now it seems that for these 64bit games such as X-Plane 10 v2.2+ we need to use:...

FaceTrackNoIR!

Apparently they have done some nice porting which took Freetrack 2.2 and ported into a different code, with which they made it 64bit compatible.

So guys I THINK FTNOIR will work, but I am yet to test it. I will report back asap with my results.

UPDATE: It works very well with FaceTrackNoIR and PilotView!
In pilotview.ini just set externaldata to equal 1 and enable trackir in game settings. Then just run FTNIR in freetrack mode and then just configure your axis.
Got it working perfectly with a bit of tweeking. Been flying at night time! SO BEAUTIFUL!

Gimme' a shout if you need any help or would like me to screenshot my settings!

It works great, and you can nicely tune your axis so your head doesn't shoot outside of the cockpit  ;D

Hello, I use freetrack but I can not make it work on XP10.
This is the 64 bit version 10.25.
In fact before making updates freetrack worked on Xplane.

I download PilotView but nothing changes.
Could someone explain me the exact procedure to run freetrack on xplane 10.25.

Thank you for your help.  :)

You have to use the FacetrackNOIR application in Freetrack mode. The Freetrack application itself doesn't work and seems to have been abandoned.

I for one welcome our new FacetrackNOIR overlords...
