Hi there,
Is anyone here using freetrack in GPL? Freetrack runs superbly in all my other apps GTL, GTR2 and IL2 but i can't get it to pan smoothly in GPL no matter what settings i try and use. I'm getting 60FPS from my camera in Freetrack but the panning in GPL is very erratic. (BTW im using single point tracking) Does anyone have any suggestions, or settings they use in GPL. All help truly appreciated, Cheers, Neil |

Yes i use it in GPL ! (it's one of my two favorite racing simulation)
I have include a GPL profile in freetrack 2.1.0.0 package ! Use GPL shift 7.3.2 patch with no ini modification ... http://www.gplshift.dk/ I use 4 dots cap ... yours movements are too quick ? try to put more average values (for test, because freetrack is better with a small average values and more smoothing... )... So it's a personal feeling ... with 4 dots cap : less smothing values you have, with small average valu and more sensibility you have when your head moving ... so you must have a small Z sensibilty values, with a few smoothing ! For X,Y axis you must have very small sensibilty values (because you can't move mutch in real car)... for yaw, values are like rfactor profile values (around)... pitch must be small, because you can't move mutch in real car racing (and GPL has virtual walls limit ...) don't forget to made an profile association (in freetrack GUI profile Tab) with GPL game ID (witch is associated with default profile - so if you run GPL it select default profile if gameID association is not correct ...) Look on handbook for more informations about profile association ... I have 60 fps in 320 x 200 with my webcam (old creative webcam GO) too ... So you must have an interpolation values with same values than Cam tab (so, in your case 60 - it's very important because you can have quick - slow frame rate if you don't do that ...)

For me, the GPL tracking quality is no different to other games, have you measured your in-game fps (not just the average but also the variability)?

for me 36 Fps in GPL always ,exept in race start with many IA
But i'm agree to tell, that in GPL, freetrack profile settings are a little different than in others games ... because it seem that this game need more "smooth" movements than others ...

But do you get similar fps in other games (in order to be comparable)? The choice of renderer may also play a role; DirectX7 (7!!!) or OpenGL. |

DirectX for me, because pribula don't work in OpenGL ...
GPL is 36 FPS limited ... (it's because it's an old game engine ...)
