Hi all!
I mounted a 3 led-clip based in Urze fantastic job. Thx mate!. Using a Trust wb-1400t, and FT camera mode some CPU warning happen, FPS values are 23-28, but jitters are in 23-19. Movement isn´t fluid, sometimes system freeze during movement causing jercky head in game (mostly rFactor, ArmA, Lock on and F4 OF). My PC is old, 3 years, P-IV-3 Ghz, 1 Gb RAM, AGP 7600GT. My question: bad performance because my pc is old, or bad configuration about rotation and translation axes??? ¿Or anything else is wrong? Thx in advance. |

This only happens when there are too many points, make sure only 3 points are visible at all times.
Disable autoexposure and manually reduce exposure. Depending on your webcam, turn off anti-flicker or equivalently activate outdoors mode. |

Thanks for quick answer.
I'll give a try tonight with these settings. I noticed my 3 leds in "test mode" of as 3 medium size circles. Do i need an IR filter? I tried with a x-ray card and circles appeared smaller. |

If you are playing Armed Assault on that PC, I'm not suprised you get poor performance!

Tonight I got 3 crashes while testing FT I have no advances, don't know what more I can do.
¿Need an IR filter? As other users say in forum, they didn't. |

I assume you're using RGB24, if your webcam supports I420, use that instead. In most indoor locations, under normal lighting condition you wil need an IR filter. Otherwise, excessive light can cause RGB24 mode to crash. |

Ok guys. It looks like problem was USB bandwith. Changed it from 8 to 5, and looks fine in camera view.
Now, time to get some sleep, tomorrow testing in sims. Thx for tip about IR filter and compression, yes, Trust webcam accept I420. |

I too am having alot of jitter, pretty sure my camera can only see the 3 led's from my clip. I tried turning the usb bandwidth down and that has helped with the smoothness however the jitter remains high 20+
I'm using a MS VX1000 btw. |

Trying new settings, I've lost stability got when USB bandwith->5
Now, if USB -> 6 --> window with: freetrack must close etc. etc. I must reboot in order to get camera and FT work proper again. If USB -> 3 --> FPS goes under 10. |

I got an extreamly cheap webcam. HighPaq PC-E015 http://description.sunrise.ru/files/57/8401491/big/01.jpg.
When i set exposure to 0 i got 28fps and 25 Jitter. The CPU usage is about 25%. When i set exposure to 10 or higher the fps drops to 14 and Jitter goes to 0-2. The CPU usage is about 10%. My CPU is Intel Core2Duo. The CPU usage is nearly the same when i enable FT and when i just monitor the Webcam picture with other software. |

So what does Jitter mean? What is this value?
I don'w know what to do: buy a real TIR or buy a new webcam.. |

Jitter counts the number of frames that deviate more than +/-15% of the average frame rate in a second.
The anti-flicker webcam option (same as 'outdoors mode' not enabled) makes the frame rate unstable and produces a large amount of jitter (more than 60% of frames). When minimized, FreeTrack forces the 'Average webcam FPS' which is set in the Interpolation section. This is able to remove most jitter depending on how much there is and how extreme the jitter variation is. |

Thx for the reply. I've changed the Frame Rate in the Stream options from 30 to 25 and the jitter got lower. It's now about 5-10 and sometimes jumps to 20.. The indoor/outdoor mode doesn't affect Jitter at all! But it affects on the quality of the image. I was used to set it on Indoor because the led's where poorly visible in outdoor.
After some tweaks on curves i'm now happy )) The head tracking gives more emotions in ArmA. Thank you very much for the sofware. I'll write a translation to Russian soon. |

Hi all!
I changed Trust webcam with a usb 2.0 labtec plus. Better fps now, but getting 20-25 jitter values. It changed when i choose 60 hz in camera menu and now it runs in 2-3. Great job with freetrack guys, and thx for answers. |
