I'm waiting for some IR LEDs to come in from digikey, then I'm going to use a cheap bluetooth headset as the battery and headset for the LEDs.  I figure it's a small lightweight battery w/ built-in charging circuitry!
Has anyone else tried this before?  You can get cheap headsets on eBay for less than $10 too.  Just tap into the battery, and put a switch on it.  Be careful of draining the battery too low though.  Lithium batteries hate being over-discharged.

The IR LEDs and resistors came in so I pieced it together today while watching Grey's Anatomy  :D

It's nice and lightweight and uses the headset's battery.  The framework is made of paperclips soldered together, and is also used as the (-) negative.  The blue wire is (+) positive and the resistors are underneath the black tape.

Now I just gotta find a suitable camera...
