Can anyone help me with this, please?
I have an MS Lifecam VX 1000, on Windows XP Pro.
Freetrack crashes, just after I press start (the webcam).
Briefly, I see an window called active movie, the camera output bit in freetrack shows all red, then the application bombs out.
Any help?
Thanks
Paul

Try using I420 compression if your webcam supports it.
Also try setting the threshold to maximum before starting a video stream.

That has cured it, Kestrel. Many thanks.
Is there any reason why I should use I420 as opposed to RGB24 during normal use?

I420 is more efficient and has better filtering than RGB24, always use it if your webcam supports it.
RGB24 can cause a crash if it sees too much light.

Umm, you can actually use i420 with MS LifeCam VX-1000? How?
I though that this cam didn't support it

It's in the options. In 2.1, stop the camera and click stream/ color space

At least with 2.0, I never had it in the options...
But for me it doesn't matter anymore. Gave my VX-1000 to one friend of mine and now waiting to Logitech Connect to arrive
