Off line Www

I guess it's working on vista, cuz some people has been using PPjoy and had trouble with vista, but they didn't say they had problems with Freetrack and Vista.
The best way to know it is you download it, try it, and you tell us : D
(but I'm pretty sure the answer is YES)

If you're running 64bit windows make sure you run Freetrack in 32bit compatibility mode.

Bjorn @ 01/10/2007 - 22h57 a dit:

Freetrack is Vista compatible, normally 32bit + admin mode is all that is required to get it working.

Check that the filter has been correctly registered by searching your registry for 'FreetrackFilter' using regedit, if it's found and it points to the correct directory then your problem lies elsewhere.

Otherwise try manually installing the FreetrackFilter by going into the Filter directory, copying the sse filter (FreetrackFilter.ax) into the root of the Filter directory and then running Install.bat (if that doesn't work, try the mmx filter).

Take a look at this thread:

http://freetrack.online.fr/forum/index.php?showtopic=215

In my case (vista64, NON-Admin Userprofile) I had to choose the windowsXP(SP2) mode and make the mark at the "execute as admin"-option for ALL USERS.

I hope this will work for you...  :inn:

Thanks a lot for your replies!

I cant find freetrackfilter in regedit. I tried the manual installation of the filter (both sse and mmx), but then I got another error message when trying to run the install.bat file. I copied the .ax file to the program files\freetrack\filter folder, where the install.bat file is located. Am I doing something wrong?

Error message (translated from Norwegian):
FreetrackFilter.ax has been loaded, but calling for DllRegistryServer failed with error code 0x80004005

I get the same message whether or not i copy FreetrackFilter.ax from SSE/MMX folder to Filter folder.

In my case (vista64, NON-Admin Userprofile) I had to choose the windowsXP(SP2) mode and make the mark at the "execute as admin"-option for ALL USERS.

Since Im already in admin mode, I guess this should not be nescessary, but how do you choose XP mode and "execute as admin"-option? Is this an option in 64 bit vista only? Im new to Vista, and not an expert in computers in any way..

Thanks again!

Problem solved!

Solution:

Right-click on Freetrack shortcut
Click on the option "Execute as admin"
..and you should be able to run Freetrack 2.0 like a charm!

Obviously this is what protonmw was telling, but i had to lok around in the French section of the forum to figure it out right..

Thanks alot, now m ready to start the building of my own IR LED gizmo. :D
