Hi.

I heard that GRiD was now playing nicely with Freetrack, and Npclient.dll.
But with 1.2 GRiD, the game crashes back to the desktop.
Can I simply run Freetrack, and PPJoy without that dll?
Freetrack and Ppjoy still seem to work.

God Freetrack rocks.

Simply amazing.
All I have to do now is build a headset or something.

Thanks for your time.

***FIXED***
I can't belive it.
I put the NPClient.dll back, run GRiD in administrator mode and it worked :)
Freetrack, detected a TrackIR enabled game, and all is well.

Reply to this thread to let others know it worked for you.
I have since re-tested this, and I can confirm it works on Vista, using this method.
Anyone got a good desgin for a headset model?

Great that there's a workaround, thanks for finding it. Does anyone know what permissions need to be changed in order for it to work as a normal user?

Don't quote me on this, but unless I am mistaken, the only way, would be to switch off UAC (The Administrator would need to do this.)
Although this would make Vista, less secure, so I can't honestly recommended it.

I'm actually running XP but as a limited user, so no UAC here.  It would just be helpful if anyone knew what GRiD was trying to access that required admin privileges. Not really a big deal though. :)

edit: Just tried it with a simple one point model and it still crashes. I guess something else must be going on in my case.
