when i told about my problem about automatic exposure and sensitivity you guys told me that it would be fixed in the new version. can you approximately say when it will be released?
i cant wait to get it :-)

Keep in mind there are a smegload of different webcams out there and some don't like you changing the exposure programmatically. No guarantees... :/

i tested my quickcam with other programs.
its only in freetrack that the driver forces back to some default settings. actually i can chose between automatic and manual, but in manual exposure he always steps back to a default value.
when i try to use the cam in virtual dub as capture device, my manual setting is saved and used. so i think there must be a way to initialize the cam in a different mode.

Virtual Dub doesn't remember, nor allow my webcam to remember, exposure or gain settings. Logitech Quickcam webcams don't remember these settings, by design.

wouldnt be a problem for me to reset the manual settings for exposure each time i start freetrack if you could get it working that way.

In v2.0 the camera property button is disabled during a video stream, even though it doesn't need to be, preventing you from changing camera settings. 
Keeping the camera property button enabled was one of the first changes for v2.1.

hey did you try setting the quickam properties via Quickam software whilst freetrack is running? it always works for me

@einsena: i tried your recommendation and it worked for me. i got 31 instead of 25 fps with better LED detection at the same time. but i hate the logitech-software which starts hundreds of processes in background just to control the cam. this i would like to avoid by controlling it through freetrack.

i only manage to get 29 max on my quickcam IM! 
about the quickcam software, you could always shut it down after you've done tinkering with it, the setting won't change after you closed it anyways.

i set exposure to 1/33s and sensitivity to max (10000)
then freetrack shows 31fps in every resolution with I420.
