The reason it went down to 20 FPS was because indoor got switched back on so the antiflicker kicked in. When I put it back to outdoor, it went back to the 24 FPS, so I'm sure the USB port being used isn't a factor.

It doesn't rule out your usb hardware/software setup from limiting max fps to 24 though.

No, you're right that it doesn't rule that out, but given that a number have posters have reported 24 FPS with this hardware, I'd be surprised if it is the USB.
