Hello all!

I am making a few caps for those who don't wish to make their own. My design runs on one AA battery, which is mounted on the velcro back-strap.

- They can operate for more than 2 days on one akaline battery

- They are EXTREMELY light weight on the user's head

- They won't interfere with most headphones

- Also, you won't be embarrassed wearing it infront of your friends ;)

You can order them from my ecrater store here:
http://chattanooganmerchant.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=2450018

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Marcus

I really wish I had seen this earlier, if my crappy reflecting system doesn't work I will definitely be buying this.

Does it use IR LEDs?

Yes, it uses ir leds. ;) they have been tuned by hand. I used rounded end ones that I sand down, buff the ends so they have a very wide beam angle.

I will probably ship to the uk, I just shipped one to Norway for Gnomie, I would rather you hold of until his arrives though, his is the first I have shipped over seas, so I will be more comfortable shipping again after I know his gets there.

Wow, that was a run on, lol.

Thats so funny!!! I was a little annoyed at first about you posting your site, but when I saw the vid, I realized you are the one that got me into this bit!!!!

I saw your video a few months ago on youtube. I knew nothing about ir point model tracking, but I caught on quick. I make touchscreens, have a wiimote whiteboard, and everything spawned from that vid! lol

Yeah if you get anymore comments about wanting a cap built, please send them my way. My quantity of caps is dynamic, meaning I can make as many as demanded.

by all means, post.
And thanks again!!!

Marcus

PS. If you don't mind, pm me what city you live in, I'm thinkin its close to me. I know you live in tennessee, I live near live near Rock City, I'm sure you know where that is... ;) hell, if you want one of my caps I will personally drive to your house, shake your hand and give you one, lol.

LOL!!! Yea I bet you thought, who the heck wants me to view thier idiodic site...LOL. Anyways, man I will put out a linky on my site because I get asked ALL THE TIME about somebody who can make this for them. I would, but I work all the time (IT manager lol). Appreciate ya letting me do this and glad you like the videos, I really had a fun time doing the project. Still am thinking of putting another rock video together, but really been so busy lately I haven't had time, but I eventually will probably.......
I know where ya live! I am in Sweetwater, its right between Knoxville and Chattanooga...you probably been here to the big flea market.
Take care and thanks again, appreciate the comments and the permission!

No, I thought you were promoting your design for sale in my topic, lol. I read your post wrong. Yeah, I would love to see another vid like that.  "the pot" by tool would be freaking sweet, man! I could imagine a jet climbing steep in altitude with the line "you must have been, so high." he-he. I know what you mean about work, I'm a pharmacy tech, and its allergy season.

Thanks for the post on your site, I have two orders shipping out tomorrow and I have to go get some more leds and resistors. If I don't order more caps soon, I'm gonna be out of them too.

Is it possible to make one with normal red leds?
Because I have a single red led for now and it works like a charm. Don't want to mess my cam up with removing the filter (logitech quick cam) so if it could be possible to attach normal red leds i would be glad :)

Edit: i tried with a remote control for my tv and as the conditioning here in my room where I play the freetrack has a slight problem to read the infraled from the remote. Is the leds on your cap stronger than the leds on a remote?
If so then it shouldnt be a problem I guess (from using normal red ones)

By the whay, I live in sweden. Any problems to deliver to my country?

I use the same camera, ;). My leds are much stronger than a remote's, and I have tracked with the ir filter installed. also, a remote's ir isn't constant, so it won't always track very well. I have no problem shipping to sweden, for $7 shipping. The package weighs 8 oz (about a 1/4 of a kilo for you metric system peeps ;) ) so, it costs me exactly that amount at the post office for over seas international to europe.

Ok tnx for replyin  :)
So then i guess it wont be any problem with infra leds. I play in a fairly dark room and the webcam is untouched. If the infra leds are much stronger than a remote then it shouldnt be any problem  :pirate:

My friend want a cap aswell so it makes two caps  :speaking:  Do I order from your page linked above or? http://chattanooganmerchant.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=2450018
