I notice you also have the VX-3000. I just got mine to work wonderfully and thought I'd put in a reply for ya.
Can you tell us if you are using regular LED's or IR ones?
Also have you sanded down the fronts of the LED to enable wider viewing angle?
Have you modified the camera in any way and are you using filters in front of it?
All this info will help us know better what problems you are having.

Im just doing it the cheapie way i just got some leds from light up pens and stuck it on my hat and It worked nicely with one led btw Im not using a filter but then when I try to use 3 as you can see that happens.
Have you built the 3 LED array to the prescribed dimensions? THis is the 70mm side to side from center, 100mm/80mm thing that you've probably read about.
The pickup screen in your screenshot looks o.k. for the 3 LED's and no parasitic lighting but they do look a bit large on the display. Make sure that your VX-3000 is focused properly.
