Hello,

I found an old Playstation 2 Eye Toy camera and saw that it is compatible for using with freetrack and it has an easy to remove IR filter. I haven't found any tutorials on how to disassemble the camera (only for other models) and I don't want to destroy it trying.

Can anyone help me and explain how I remove the IR filter?

So for everybody interested: The webcam either doesn't have a filter build in or it is not good enough (?) to filter my IR LEDs. I can also see the IR of the sunlight with it (of course with normal light filter).

The bad ones is not possible, but there is a possibility.

Polish the lens with cerium oxide. It´s use for polish telescope mirrors in Amateur astronomy.

If the filter is a layer on the lens surface  could be removed with this .
