The default cap measurements, as shown here
http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=413dware/calcled/?PHPSESSID=cc2a51e6823a50cc189c9e5dcda0e643 , show the two outer LEDs 40mm from the centre R LED.
This is confusing as this would place them about in line with my eyes, whereas most models I've seen have these LEDs further out, at the peaks of the cap, which I estimate would be about 80-90mm. This would also mean they were less in the users field of vision and so not as instrusive (for LEDs mounted below the peak, if they're mounted above it obviously doesn't matter so much). Being able to mount them on the outer edges of the peak would also seem to have the advantage of them never being obscured from the camera by the peak when pitching the head up or down.
So are people generally using around 80-90mm for these LEDs and is there any disadvantage from doing so?
