Hey guys!
I´m really interested in building a free track device. But I want to build a set WITHOUT touching the camera so I can Skype with it etc. In my room the sun is never shining in as it is heading to north... So this shouldn´t be the problem. Is this possible? Thanks for your answers! |

Hi,
it's all depending on what cam you use. Some webcams works fine with her weak ir-filter, others not. But even when you don't remove the ir-filter you need at least a daylight-block filter, (removable if you want), for a good tracking.

Well, I only can say it for sure for my own. It's a Quickcam Pro 5000, but this is a very old model.
Check the compatibility list and this thread for more information. |

Just a quick question: Is this the right ressistor for a 5V (USB) Serial build? Thanks!

No, get 6.8Ohm or (and) 10Ohm.
http://www.conrad.at/ce/de/product/409618/ http://www.conrad.at/ce/de/product/403016/ 6.8 Ohm for 75mA or 10Ohm for 50mA (LEDs brighter). |

Well I now desperatly tried to get the PS3 Eye camera running. But somehow I fail.
I installed as said here in der Forum and I can see that the camera works trough the CL EYE test BUT 1. Freetrack crashes when try to run PS3 Eye 2. if Freetrack keeps stale after starting no response via Freetrack of the camera and also not via the CL-EYE-Test 3. Camera is not visible at the dropdown menu at skype. Hope you can help me where the problem is... Thanks! |

Ok Software works now.... I planned to use the cap via USB. Now I would like to try to use the HTC Charger (The one for the mobiles) Is that possible?

Of course. You Just need a regulated 5V charger. If you got other voltage please post it to determine resistors.

Ok. What somehow irritated me is that at the external USB Port there is standing. 5V 1A and a strange sign
And on the Mobile Charger there stands 5V 2A and the same strange sign... What does that mean? |

That means both delivers 5V voltage and 1 ampere current max. for the external USB port and 2 ampere max. for the phone charger.
Do you got a link or photo or reference for this charger? I like to be sure that it's switched-mode power supply not a linear power supply. |
