So I finally managed to build a tracker, I used the easy build with three IR LED.
I tried in a dark setting and it works without removing the IR blocking filter on the PS eye. So I was wondering at this point to use it in daylight if I only need an IR filter, would that be enough? I am not sure but my model might be the new one (bad one).
So I would need an unexposed developed camera film or a floppy, correct? Any other alternative aside from a photo filter?

Thanks

I modded my VX-1000 webcam years ago for some artschool IR work. I used a few frames of 35mm color film negatives, fully exposed and developed. That'll block 99% of light getting through. I then used two small pieces of it to replace the glass IR filter that was in my camera.

I just ordered an IR headset (too lazy to make one), so we'll see how well it works with my camera in a few days. Considering my camera only sees IR, I imagine this will work out great.

But, if you're looking to just make an IR pass filter, use developed color film that's been exposed. You can usually find fully exposed bits at the end of negatives. Worst case, just buy some color film, unroll it while in the store, expose it to the sun for a seconds, and just get it developed there.

I haven't removed the filter from mine, just a film to filter the light, works very good.
