hi, I'm new here. Could you guys please clarify this for me. I have a Track IR 3 camera and my question is can I use this camera with Freetrack software. I'm about to buy all the LEDs and start to setup the 4 point cap. But before I go thorugh the trouble of setting everything up, I want to know if the TrackIR 3 camera is still supported by Freetrack software. I've read in the freetrack website that the new versions don't support it on Natural Point's request. Is that true? If so, is there any older version of freetrack software that I can use with Track IR 3 camera?

TrackIR cameras aren't supported anymore due to a Natural Point request.
I managed to make it work with the Track-IR 4Pro, so I suppose it will works with 3 too. Can't remember well, but I think it was with one of the older versions of Freetrack.

Go for the 3-point cap or clip, 4 point is outdated.

Thanks for the reply Steph. I've downloaded an earlier version of the software. I'll buy the LEDs and try to set it up. Hope it works! Fingers crossed.  and yes I'll go for the 3-point cap as specified.

So I've finally setup the 3 point cap. Can someone on this forum please give me step by step instructions on how to get freetrack to work with my TrackIR 3 camera. (I've searched on this forum for documentation on how to get it to work but all lead to a dead end) I've downloaded freetrack version 2.1.2.264 (I believe this version should support TrackIR 3 cameras right?) I've also downloaded optitrack 1.1.034(the SDK thingy). As of now I've installed all the above software but the TrackIR 3 camera is still not recognized by Freetrack  :snif: Can someone please help me! I'm using win7 64-bit btw.

I don't have a TrackIR cam so I'm afraid I can't help you with that, but why don't you use the TrackIR software?

Blindasabat @ 19/03/2012 - 01h43 a dit:

but why don't you use the TrackIR software?

I do have the TrackIR software and TrackIR works fine with the software. The only thing I don't have in TrackIR 3 is 6DOF. I only have 2DOF. I'm not going to spend $54 just for 6DOF support from Natural point (ridiculous isn't it. Highway robbery if you ask me!!!)

Oh I didn't know that, I thought all TrackIRs were 6DOF.

I'm still not able to get the TrackIR camera recognized by freetrack.  :snif:  BTW...I can't seem to find Optitrack 1.0.35 software. Anyone know where to find it? I've got Optirack 1.0.34.
