I've got a PS3 Eye modified with Peau Productions' M12 lens mount, 850nm IR pass filter, and a normal lens. I'd like to get a passive trackable setup going. As I mentioned in my other post, I've used an IR spotlight positioned beside my camera to successfully illuminate retroreflective dots. However, I fly wearing glasses, and with the camera centered above my screen, I pick up very strong reflections from the illuminator that I can't remove by manipulating exposure and threshold settings.

I tried positioning the camera off to the left (so that I wouldn't ever look close enough on-axis to get reflections), but tracking is very poor for whatever reason. It tends to tilt wildly up/down for no apparent reason when I yaw left/right.  Is this a limitation of Free-Track, or a problem with my setup? I'm fairly certain that the retroreflective dots are properly placed, though they're temporarily taped in place for now and not as precisely positioned as my active trackable's LEDs.

Any thoughts?

Tracking don't works very well if the Camera is not on axe. Especially with three point cap versions.
Do you set up the right dimensions for your mount in the program panel?
