Hello folks,
First, many thanks to benmeijer for the 3-LED construction guide - I just used it and other than my rusty soldering skill, the result is a beauty.
I was having trouble, as others were, with reflections and other light sources messing with the tracking. I couldn't find any film negatives...and then i discovered that the lens from a broken pair of sunglasses works...great.
Has anyone else ever tried this? When I eventually got a piece of film negative, I found that the sunglasses lens actually worked better. It may be the actual type of lens, but who knows - it could be an alternative for blocking out non-IR light.
