Hi guys, would it be illegal to sell FreeTrack headsets as it's freeware, or is it just illegal to sell the software?
Sorry if this angers some of you, I just wanted to know the stance of everyone and whether or not it's a good idea to build and sell them on for around the £15-£20 mark.

Regards, Craig.

As long as you are just producing some generic hardware and selling it, its nothing  :pirate:  illegal  :fear:  about it.Are you planning to design a new clip and start production? or you are going to sell some home made once.

It would be production. Design the whole thing, assemble it, and ship it to customers.
In terms of legality, would I be allowed to advertise it as a "FreeTrack" headset?

Craig.

To use Freetrack you will need to get the permision I guess. If you use other name and promote it as head tracking , some of the other guys using TrackIR will also buy it because thier current design is poor and lot of them have broken clips at junctions. I think if you set the pricing right it can be a good sell.
