I have been working on a freetrack 3 point headset on and off for the past 2 months and nothing has worked. I just finished my most sucessful attempt but once I put the heatshrink on it stopped working. Also 2 of the leds soldered connections heat up when turned on and when the batteries are on fo more that a minute they heat up pretty bad so much so that it burnt my skin. Ive put alot of effort into this and to end up with yet another unsuccessful attempt is disheartning. I dont want to give up now but I feel I am unable to make it work. Ive tried the same style headset everytime without sucess. Could someone recommend THE most easiest setup to make?.Any advice as to the heat problems would be very much appreciated.

Read at least this article before you take soldering iron again http://soldering.webng.com/articles/guide_solder/inline.html |

Thanks for the advice. Ill try to solder propery toworrow but I dont have the right kind of soldering iron. Mine is a big gun with a looped tip. In the above diagram it appears that the total resistance is 20 ohms. If so would it be possible to make the same circuit with a single 30 ohm resistor?
Thanks |

Yes, you could use the 30 ohm resistor with 6 volt supply.
This will give 50 ma for current flow. |

It doesn't matter. Just clean looped wire that acts as tip or replace it with wire of same gauge. I don't know where do you live, but if you have Chinese market around, you can find soldering irons for as low as 2.5€. |
