Hi Guys

I've bought a generic type webcam with IR LEDS to set up a reflective (passive) freetrack design.

Webcam seems to work fine but I'm having problems when running freetrack, selecting 'PC Camera' and clicking 'Start'. It crashes at that point, giving me the generic message (Freetrack has stopped working).

These are the things I've done so far to tackle this problem.

I've turned up the threshold in Freetrack to maximum

I've turned down the brightness and basically all settings on my camera

I'm running Freetrack as an administrator (Win 7, 64 bits)

I've noticed that my camera's colour space/compression has only one option, MJPG. Apparently this isn't compatible with Freetrack for now. In the FAQ it suggested downloading a program called Splitcam to help deal with this problem.

I Installed Splitcam, 64bit (beta) version over here.

Still a bit clueless as to how this can help with the MJPG colour format issue.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance-

edit:

Ok, I see that I can select splitcam in the source options now in freetrack. No crash as yet- will experiment further! :)
