I see two problems:
1. Red LED works on diffrent voltage than Blue so you will have to mod other elements on PCB.
2. Iam not sure if ps3eye can give enaugh current to bright IR LED at proper level.
Personaly i recommend you building separate LED module on top of camera microphone aray and power it from same USB bus (USB gives 500mA - camera) or external power source.
Hadn't thought about the voltage issue. You bring up a very good point:) Is there some way to determine the voltage of the two LEDs that are already there and use that as a starting point? Was just wondering if anyone else had considered trying it.
I'd like to build an IR array, but by the time I finish getting all the stuff to build it I may as well just purchase a TrackClip Pro for 34 dollars and use that instead. IR LEDs are kinda pricey in my part of the US. Not to mention I'll have to get all the other components. By then it will be nearly 30 dollars and could be a waste if I screw something up:) hehehe.
