Can someone take a few minutes to explain how I can get my old TrackIR2 working again?

I want to enable it with FSX and possibly Dirt. I have ready so many threads and followed so many links over the last 2 evenings that my head is starting to spin, which is going to confuse any tracking software :)

I see you are sick of threads, so... here's some more threads. :)

Thanks for the reply Quarrion.

First link is just how I like it, straight forward and possitive. :D I hadn't searched 'optitrack' which I think is the missing ingredient. I hope to implement it this evening.

The second link is somewhat confusing  :blink: I admit it's a first thing in the morning but I am not sure I follow it. I believe I may need to keep renaming a file. But that's stage two, and one step at a time is always progress.

Thank you again.

Got the TrackIR 2 setup second attempt, I hadn't noticed the part about editing the file to uncomment the driver reference for TrackIR 2 (second page of the thread).

As for FSX, I could not make it work with the IRviews.dll and then I found http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=2091&page=1#13562 and it worked like a charm.

Thanks everyone.

Having had a motherboard go pop on me and having to loose everything, start again etc.....

Are both OptiTrack_1.1.034.exe and FreeTrack_V2.2.0.267.exe compatible with XP pro 64 bit?

Don't want to go down that route only to find a deadend. I couldn't stand to be without head tracking in my Simulations  :D

:::EDIT:::

In case anyone needs this information...
Both are 64bit compatible.
