Hi Guys,

First, I would like to say thank you to all the freetrack team,
you guys deserve a medal for making such a very useful product,
and thanks to the community too for all the advices and support.
I learn a lot from reading this forum.    :D   :D   :D

I am using wiimote with bluetooth dongle ES-388.
It comes with BlueSoleil  1.6.1.4 release 050606.

I have a very high JPS, around 60 to 80.
I heard that usually you get around 40 with bluesoleil.

How do you reduce the JPS?
And what does the high JPS do?
does it affect the smoothness of the movement?

Please advice.
Thanks.

I am having the same issue at the moment , I hope it's something we've missed this is the best discovery I've made in my gaming years in years!!

My post in the other forum

Hi All,

I have free track set up using a Wii remote and a 3 point headset model, with the recommended Osram Leds works great.

But I can't help thinking It might work better.

I have a Belkin BT device small thumb nail size unit (Belkin F8T016NG 10m Mini Bluetooth Adapter )

Bluesoliel 6.5 and a genuine Wii remote.

Windows 7 x64 UAC disabled.

The issue I have is I get 100fps from the Wii mote but the JPS hovers around 35-41 then after some gaming its 60-70 and stays there.

I know I read some where that when minimized FT the JPS drop to a lot less and the ingame movement seems to be very smooth (wings of prey)

Has any one got any advise on how to fine tune FT and iron this out?

Cheers

Freaky

I have also replied to Freakys post and although my jitters average 40fps
and sometimes hit 70/80 whilst configuring I really see NO adverse effect whilst in the game.

http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=2254

All the sensitivity adjustments for Deadzones and movements are in there, but I fail to see how a high jitter is affecting my gameplay at all..... I mean I only have IL2 and Arma working just now and when I alt tab to see 50JPS
and alt tab back into the game,,,,,,

I look straight forward and it is as steady as a rock ...
I look at my flaps lowering and it is as steady as a rock ....

Q. Is it affecting your gameplay ?

Hi Jax,

Thanks for the reply, no in game everything seems nice and stable / smooth, get the odd pause but like 1ms. and I have it set for all 6DOF. In have the filters turned up in the profile to help things I have not yet played with the dead zones.

But I have about 40fps with spikes to 70-80 when config but other than this its fine.

Seems like the project is dead at the moment so it seems we'll have to live with the current build as it stands. No big deal.

Hi Freaky and Jax,

I think I read from somewhere that higher JPS caused less smoother movement / more stuttering when you move your head?
Is this true?
Please advise.

Hey a1adin,
I'm still a reasonable novice to this but I see no stuttering in my main game.  I dont have an Uber PC (Single Core, AMD 3.0Ghz, 9800 GTX+) and the game I play is IL2 with Ultrapack, all setting on High and when I look around the cockpit left or right, it moves really smoothly.  I could not speak for those with cameras running at lower frame rates but with the Wii mote I have I dont get any jerking.  Maybe the JPS is more crucial for those with cameras but the Wii remote running at 100fps with no processor usage seems unaffected on my system.

I'll play about with it some today to see if i can reduce the jitters in freetracks program, but, like I said, it is not adversly affecting my game at all    :D

I'll get back to ya :-)
