Hello,

I am using a Quickcam Messenger (with IR filter removed) for freetrack.
My problem is that to get the best results (basically to use it during daytime), I need to reduce gain and/or exposure in the driver settings.

Unfortunately, I found no way to save gain and exposure settings. Could anyone help me?

To make it worst, for a strange reason, FSX resets these settings when I start it, and to make it even worst, going back to the desktop to properly set my webcam parameters once FSX runs leads often to unexpected behaviour (very long delay, freetrack/fsx conection not working anymore...).

Thanks for your help.

I use similar camera.

I have same problems.

solution:

Use for setting up the camera only "Amcap" a small software that can access the camera or tunner for that matter.

After you set it up it will autosave the settings for freetrack and DON'T open the settings in freetrack again. Or if you do open don't close them with OK... only with "cancel" or "close".

This happens even in 2.2 with windows 7 but I use 2.1 and Win Xp.

Thanks for your help. I will probably not need it, as I have bought a Ms VX-1000 which has a better field of view, but I hope it will be usefull for someone else.
