Hi Guys.

Yesterday I set up free track with a MS VX500 just to get an idea of it before I bought the necessary camera. It worked perfectly aside from there was still an infrared sensor and no light shielding.

So today I bought a VX3000, and modded it. But when I first switched on free track, I got the usual cam pic, but about 4/5 down, there was like a cross hair in the picture and the LED's went red when moved into this section.

Then I closed and opened the software and this time there was no led's when moved into the crosshair section.

I tried adjusting the resolution and now the entire pic has a crosshair and the camera doesn't show. I see it switch on though, and it works perfectly in other applications.

ideas?

Regards

Itai

It seems to be an incompatability with the MS software ... because tried it on a different pc ... same thing ... but the camera works perfect. .. It seems as though the screening mask that free track puts in to make the pic black doesn't work properly and is either all black with the cross hair, or only covers a small portion of the area.

Here is a picture of the issue on my own PC.
On the other PC there is mostly an image and the bottom piece is black and only shows the LED's, but the rest of the picture shows the available light.

It must be ab incompatability something with the MS VX3000, as it worked fine with a VX500 ... I will try again with the 500.

Please note that in the image ... the camera is switched on, but there is no picture as you can see. It works fine in other software though.

Ok, below is a screenshot of what happens at other times, and one using a MS VX500.

It must be a driver issue conflict with this camera and the camera software ... its the only logical explanation for me, because the camera works fine.

Any idea what I can do to get it working ... please someone help.

I just registered on this forum because i am having the same exact problem, see attached picture, i am using a VX-1000, everything worked perfectly, i redo my hat, with more precise dimension, so in FreeTrack i wanted to reset my setting to do all new settiung with my 3 poit hat adjusted, and once i clicked in Global Tab the Reinitialize Cinfig File, an kinda error window appeared, and i clicked yes too fast and didnt read, and right after resetting, FreeTrack started acting weird, i ended up having the same problem, seing myself in the window as reg. cam view instead of infra red view like before, and a weird gray line appeared on the bottom of the cam view exactly like yours, i uninstalled Free Track, rebooted, re-install, and noting, still does that, i even re-uninustalled, install version 2.1, and wasn't better, was workinf, but my head was upside down in the movement window with the skull head, If you ever find the answer about this bug let me know, cuz pissed me off that it was working and now, nothing work anymore

Well i don'T see how to attach file :( but  i do have same issue, the led are red, but when comes clear, they become white and when too bright i evens ee myself like in normal webcam

Cool just a few minute after replying to you with my previous message, i ended up on google with someone on a diff. forum having a problem with his wii and someone told him to uninstall Freetrack but also delect folder in Program that stays there, so i re-uninstall Freetrack, went in Program and indeed there was still a Freetrack Folder and stuff in it and on first level of Program an alone FreeTrack file, i deleted it and the folder, empty thrash can, then rebooted, re-install version 2.2 and it got back ok, try to uninstall FreeTracker, then doing he same, deleting the FreeTrack Folder in Program and the alone FreeTrack file on first level of Program/Files, then reboot, re-install FreeTrack.
