Hey all, I'm going to build a 3 point setup to clip onto my headphones, I'm going to get the SFH485P LEDs, and 30ohm resistors to use with 2x AA batteries.
But i wanted to ask, would this wire be good to wire it all together? http://uk.farnell.com/pro-power/rrp-t-104-pk2/wire-tinned-copper-1-0-25mm-pk2/dp/1307796 |

I would go for copper only wire, but that seems good.
I used something like this: |

Yeah, the website doesnt have any of that kinda wires though or else I'd go for them.
With the wiring i linked though, so it'll be ok? theyre not just bare wires are they? like they do have insulation around them right? |

From what I've read in that link, they have insulation and no they aren't barbed wire
I believe that they are good, the tinned just means they have a protective coating from oxidation, I'm no expert but it seems good as mine. Good luck on the assembly. |

are the default sizes for the 3 point ok? I mean the sizes the program gives you
are they good sizes to use? could the sizes be changed slightly and it'll still work alright? |

alright i stripped an ethernet cable and got plenty of wire. but i put it all together, right measurements and everything, but its really twitchty, like when i look dead on, and dont move, its twitching around and makes quite big movements. also it doesnt seems to track very well, like when i look DIRECTLY up, it looks up, but moves to the left and rotates slightly. can anyone help please? |

OK first off I was experiencing twitching because when I moved my input device I shook the desk that the monitor was sitting on that my webcam was sitting on. Shaky cam = bad.
Try changing your sensitivity to 1 instead of 3 for all your axes. Also you have to adjust your "model position" under the model tab. You have to tell freetrack where the pivot point on your setup is relative to your head. I put Horizontal -101mm, that's to the right because my led assembly is to the right of my head. You might also want to fiddle with smoothing as it makes your movement less jerky. Someone might want to sticky this. |

That's strange they say in the link it as Polyurethane insulation (PU)... maybe it's transparent? |
