Hello,

I use the Wiimote for a tracking camera because it is very fast and does not use a lot of system resources.  That said, it does have limitations, namely a low resolution.

In trying to cope with this, i found that using a slightly larger point model works best.  Alternatively, the user can sit closer to the wiimote.  The problem is that with a limited field of view, it is easy to accidentally move one or more LEDs out of the view field and lose tracking.

How hard would it be to implement dual camera input?  With this, the point model could be simplified to some extent and the tracking accuracy would be improved since freetrack would have access to stereoscopic vision.  Granted, these problems could be remedied to some extent by simply increasing the sensitivity and therefor decreasing the amount of head movement needed.

One problem that I ran into was having the vertical clip mounted on the left side of my head.  With this configuration, you can only turn your head so far to the left before your head begins to block the LEDs from the camera.  My solution to this was to mount the vertical clip directly above my head.  Having two cameras, however, offset to the left and the right of the user would help alleviate this issue.

Just a thought.  Maybe dual camera input would have merit, maybe not.   :D
