People who have heard about head tracking.
There would be more here.
Then I hear about CAM2PAN and NewView and I can't find  a durn thing except for a file.

Why doesn't this site have more support.
I seem to be one of the only people that actually post in these forums.

I just became interested in head tracking myself. I have been into computers for years and knew about motion tracking to a small degree but never really considered the potential for consumer use. I have recently set up a freetrack system using a Microsoft Lifecam v1000 and I am extremely impressed with the results. I have only used it with IL-2 1946 but I have to say that I could not have expected any better results especially for free. I have the quality of performance I would have expected if I had payed 100+ dollars.

Like I said I have only used this for IL-2 but having all my setting cranked up to max and notice no difference in the simulators performance with or without the tracking. The tracking is extrememly smooth and took hardly any getting used to so I just can't see spending 200 buck on a trackIR 5 pro when I can not see how much better results I could get, at least in IL-2. As far as newer applications are concerned I can't say, but for what I use it for it is great. I am only using 3 degrees of freedom right now but that is all I really need and I am very happy with just that. I haven't tried for 6 degrees of freedom but I really don't have a need for it right now.

I hear people swear up and down how great TrackIR is and it probably is really nice but I am sure if more people knew or cared about free head tracking or just head tracking in general there would be more posting in this forum.
