What do you mean saying "they are too heavy"?

do you mean the leds are too bright?

if so, use higher value for resistor 27 or 30 ohm in serial setup with use of an 4.5 V adapter for 50 mA.

the thing is mounted on my headset.
2 double a's weight more then the whole assembly.

using an ac adapter instead of batteries makes the headset easier to move/more responsive.
