Hi

I was wondering what you all considered the best design of headwear is for a wiimote? For smoothness and ir detection etc,

3 point clip

or

3 point cap

Thanks

Rob

Ill ride your coat tails on this one.  I just picked up some LED's and have a wiimote too. Im thinking of going with the cap for ease of contruction.  Not sure :D

The 3 point clip and the 3 point cap will both work the same regardless of which camera you use.  It's really personal preference.  I like the cap because I don't always use headphones, and the cap is comfortable for me.  Other people like the clip because they always use headphones, so it's one less piece of equipment to set up.

The Wiimote is excellent for FreeTrack!  What will determine how good it works will be the quality of construction of either a clip or a cap -- either works just as well in my opinion.  Put lots of effort into making a high-quality and easy-to-use cap or clip and you'll be perfectly set :)

I've made a 3 point cap design for my wiimote set up. However, it seems Freetrack is demanding to see a 4 point model. The little lights in the bottom of the freetrack window always show 4 red lights, although i can see the three LED's in the camera view window with no problem, and of course the 3d head doesn't move. It seems freetrack is "looking" for a 4 point model. If i select a 4 point model, it's happy... but i don't have a 4 point model, i have a 3 point. It's all very confusing...

Has anyone actually got the wii remote working with a 3 point model?

I'm using a 3 point clip with Wii remote and it works great. I once tried to use a 3 point cap but Freetrack just didn't recognize. I don't know why. Anyway, I recommend a 3 point clip.

I bought the TrackIr Clip, thought I make it easy on myself, but the LED aint powerfull enough orso. The Wiimote only gets a good clean fix on the LED's from like 30 cm. Which should be more like 100 to 150 cm ??

Is there certain types of LED's that work better with the Wiimote then others? Or do I need to run more power trough the TrackIr clip?

Thinking of rebuilding the clip with other LED's but first would like to know if it will make any difference..
