it will arrive in some days.

now my questions:

1.does this cam work good with freetrack 2.1?

2. must i remove the IR filter? 3. if yes, is it hard?

4. do i need a part of a floppy disk to detect IR or does the little clip at the helm filter IR?

5. is the technique the same like the MSI STARCAM CLIP  ?

(i found this for the starcam CLIP in forum :
- no IR filter, own IR LEDs (on/off/auto)
- low cpu usage max 5% (intel E4500 C2D)
- requires the Enable button application to disable auto exposure
- 27-29 FPS
- RGB24/I420
- glass lens (good picture quality)
- low price )

thx 4 your help :)

i found the same info about the msi starcam clip and i bought one.

a) it does have an IR filter but the removal is easy. it is positioned like the one at the lifecam vx 1000

b) i can't get it to work with freetrack

c) i cannot activate the ir leds in the camera. either i bought a damaged cam (too late to return since i removed the friggin ir filter), or the driver sucks badly. in your case this is a non-issue, but i planned to use some reflective material instead of leds.

so, best of luck to you. i can only recommend that you try it with freetrack before modifying the camera. ;)
