hi everybody,

I'm using Windows XP 64bit. and I have 4GB Ram. (Normaly) but at the moment I can only use 3GB RAM because my Webcam makes trouble with 4GB Ram.

My Webcam is a Microsoft VX1000. Now I am searching for a Webcam I can use with 4GB Ram or more :) Does anybody have experience with the same problem or can help me, and let me know which webcam to use?

thanks a lot, tux  :santa:

I have got Windows XP 32 bit and have 4GB RAM on my motherboard and there are no problems whatsoever.
But you have got 64 bit and maybe this makes the difference.

known issue fixed with service pack 1.

if you dont have SP1 then take a look at the site below for the hotfix (link o page 2 works)

Thanks, but the Hotfix are for Windows Vista and it's a *.msu file.
I have XP and I can't use this file extension.

@ Christos,

the difference is, that 64bit OS provide 4 GB RAM for Programms and Data. 32bit OS provide only 3GB for Programms and Data. The 4th GB RAM is under 32bit RAM only for Hardware and not for Software.

And that's the problem: the USB microfone (in the webcam) makes problems with the 4th GB RAM.

Does anybody know which Cam I can use with 4GB RAM under XP 64bit?

thanks, tux

Hello,

FreeTrack does not need microphone input. You could disable the microphone in device manager, if that's the source of the problem.  You would have to enable it if you want to use it for other than Freetrack.
