I was able to get this program open and running.
On the page where you can begin tracking,
when i click start,  it tells me there is a violation and the pins aren't connected...

I'm not sure what i am supposed to do, being this is the first time i've used anything like this program.

I've reviewed the manual, and it looks like i've done everything properly, but when it comes to clicking start, i'm stuck.

Please advise...

Unplug and replug your usb webcam and make sure nothing else is using it in your system tray. Close down everything that uses your webcam exept for FT. that works for me.
