Dear all,

After searching the IR LED in Taiwan, the best I could find is 850nm and 940nm ones, but on the forum everyone had suggested to go with Orsam LED, which has an angle of +/- 40 degree.  The LED I found has two angle of maximum of 40 degrees & 120 degrees.  My problem is should I use the maximum of 40 degrees and trim it down?  Or should I just use the 120 degrees maximum ones?

Also when I went to the Radio Shack like shop in Taiwan, I found out they have resister of 2W, 1/2W, 1/4W and 1/8W.  Which one should I use in the wizard case?  My LED came out I need 43 Ohms with 5%, Current of 97.7mA, Dissipated power of 0.41W, and Total current in assembly of 97.7mA.  Which resister should I use?

Thanks everyone!!

Use 1/8 resistors (the smallest ones)

In my opinion 43 Ohms is a huge resistor value. What power source are you using?

Thanks for the reply, I did manage to have my setup working.  I was using 3V for power.

Also the stock 120 degree LED works like charm.  Very nice...^^
