If youre wondering why the top post edits all the time is becouse i don't need that answer anymore.

My led's got:
Forward Current IF: 20mA
Forward Voltage VF: 2.0-2.2v
Resistors: 150 OHM x 3

Some how, i made the leds working with 2.4 volt. Doesn't seem to light to strong or too little with batteries.Everything seemes to work.

Now, IF the motherboard crashes, what made it do so?

Already prepared a USB-wire. I'm talking about connecting to USB if you're wondering. :)

When is it a risk of damaging the motherboard?



If you make a mistake......

Since you ask , i presume you're not familiar with electronics. If that's the case , you shouldn't go for USB power.

but that's just my opinion........

Nope

+ is on top and - is on bottom

what you must take care of is :
- led polarity (anode toward +, cathode toward -
- led and resistor must be in serial
- but resistor can be toward the - or toward the +. We just usually represent resistor towards the + , thats all

In the freetrack manual, it is like tristan said.

WARNING : There's an error in your pictures.

The first picture says : anode toward - and cathode toward + : THIS IS FALSE
The second picture seems ok

A led works if it's anode is towards + and it's cathode towards -


Usually, you can recognize cathode by the flat edge of the case.

Don't use the big part/small part of the chip to recognize anode from cathode , as some leds use an inverted chip (ie : SFH485P)

I came on something..

i've alreadu put on the resistors optimized for 5 volt.

I don't think i got a clear answer of what can hurt the motherboard if i do wrong by connecting via USB? If i first check with a Multimeter and connecting to another power supply and it shows right, can i also connnect to USB without danger?

What do i need to know if i want to connect to USB.

I would like to get some troubleshoot here now.

I'm using same leds and resistors as before. When connecting to a 1.5 battery, should it even light at all (since optimized for 5 volt)? Becouse it doesn't.

When connecting to two 1.2 Volts bateeries, i'm feeling heat from the wires. Does that mean that the electricity goes around?

Yeah I'm ok with it, I always thought the anode was + so it just perplexed me when I came across the first pic, but yeah mine adhere to the anode+ cathode-
