Hi Guys,
I just installed freetrack the latest version Whenever I click the shortcut on my desktop it just won't start, I get the windows error bleep sound and the message: access violation at address 00402272 in module 'FreeTrack.exe'. Write of address 4029B311. When this message windows pops up I press ok and then it makes the windows error bleep again and shows the same message and then I press okay once again and I get: windows has encountered a probleand needs to close. So I press close. That sign is basically the fact that it has hung. Before I thought I had directx 9.0c. I had installed freetrack and was getting the message that I did not have a directxdll I can't remember the exact error name. I uninstalled freetrack and then installed directx9.0c and then reinstalled freetrack but now just get the access violation errors. I don't know what's up, I am using my bluetooth dongle in a USB 1.1 port and using a wiimote that has connected with a strong signal using bluesoleil. Instead of making another thread can I ask, with freetrack do you have to evereytime sync the wiimote to bluesoleil to start up the freetrack program? Also when using the wiimote in freetrack do the blue lights always have to be flashing? Is there not an on button I heard you need to tape down one of the buttons other wise the ir sensor won't be able to pick up the track clip pro that I am using. Sorry for all the questions But I really want to get this setup and running Many thanks in advance |

forgot to mention
also do I have to buy bluesoleil for this wiimote tracking to work, I downloaded the latest version but am limited to 2MB data transfer. I need to pay for an activation code after the first 15 days of evaluation. |

Sadly if you are getting the access violation in v2.2 you're pretty much stuffed. A lot of people are getting this and there is no known fix so far. Earlier versions of freetrack don't have the error, but afaik they don't support the wiimote. You can get version 2.1.2 at the bottom of the page here but I guess thats no help if youre using the wiimote:
http://www.free-track.net/english/freetrack/telechargement.php If you want to see a list of fixes we have tried you can check out my thread here: http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=1258&page=1 Basically, the problem is occuring on both XP and Vista, both 32 and 64bit versions of each. We don't know what causes it. I've tried to contact the devs about it a few times but no replies yet. This error is popping up a lot on the forums now so hopefully it gets fixed soon. The one thing you could try is reinstalling on another partition. Another forum member reported that this fixed the error for a couple of days (however it came back and he hasn't been able to fix it since). Best luck and if you manage to get it working or have any ideas about the problem be sure to let us know! Cheers, |

Many thanks for the detailed response. I guess I just have to wait till there's a workaround.
