So I just downloaded FreeTrack from the download page on this site and right about when I was about to click it to install it, my antivirus pops up and detects the file is infected

While yeah they might not say its a virus and rather just adware, it creates loopholes in your system among other things.....

You can read more about the (overall risk:high) trojan here:

This really sucks as I was looking forward to using freetrack....

Can anyone here shead some insight into this?? Perhaps the last update on July 1 with a "small fix" is the reason the program now has the trojan on it....
("FreeTrack 2.1.2 is now ready for download ! this release include small fix !")

Perhaps someone could be kind enough to upload the installation file before this "small fix"... Surely with the amount of people who have downloaded this program, it could not of always gone unnoticed as I am sure I am not the only one with antivirus software, so my guess is that someone added the infected files recently

Thanks in advanced!

I have got the same problem. In addition, the program doesn't work correctly, so I would appreciate, if someone could upload v2.1.

FreeTrack 2.1.2 doesn't have any trojan inside !  ;D

Wich Antivirus you used ?

I have made a scan with avast 4.7 and Etrust 8.0 ... Nothing is detected ... So are you sure your system is not infected ?

Try to use a software like "Spybot search and destroy" to detect if you don't have any malware or spyware on your system ...
