Hey,

got my cap today! Ordered on 5th Juni, so all together took only two weeks to Germany. The quality of your work is awesome. Have removed right now the IR filter of my Trust 1400 webcam. Hell, that was tricky, had to broke an glass that was very bad reachable but finally i got it. Will try now a few games. Thank you very much Marcus!

At the moment i put in a normal 1,5 V alkaline battery (not rechargeable). Can i use 1,2 V rechargeable batteries too? I have no idea about electronics and energy.

Greetings
Mariusz

Unfortunately, you can't use rechargeable batteries, unless they say 1.5 volts. 1.2 isn't enough to Iluminate the the led's. Thanks your order, I'm glad you like the cap!

I have Duracell 1,2 Volt rechargeable batteries who work fine with the cap. Doesn't it have to do with the mAh of the battery's ? These are pretty high with 2650 mAh.

No difference between ordinary and the rechargeables here.

Really? Well thats just plain weird, isn't it? It hasn't worked for me, but it never hurts to try it. It definitely won't hurt the cap to try it. Just don't try a higher voltage like a 3.6v aa for example.  Unless you want to catch your hair on fire, lol.

I have tried my 1,2 Volt NiMH 2200mAh rechargeable batteries, they did not work with it. But I have searched then with google for 1,5 Volt rechargeable batteries and found some. It seems that they cant be reloaded with normal chargers for NiMH/NiCd batteries. You need special chargers for them.

Here are for example 1,5 Volt rechargeable batteries:

Its a german shop but that should be not the problem to get an overview. Just search with google in your country for 1,5 Volt batteries or go to an electronics shop. I will definetly buy some, its environmentally friendly and is cheaper.  :D

Thanks for the tip ginger! I'll have to check that out.

Oh, and to answer the question over mAh from raven, mAh is the unit of measure for the stored energy of the battery. The higher it is, the longer the battery will last for a device. The amount of amps that are pulled from a battery over a given time is determined by the power needs of the device itself.

For example:

If you have a device that needs 100 mA, and a battery that has 1800 mAh, it should last for 18 hours.

Technically, on a 3000 mAh 1.5 aa, my system was only supposed to last 21 hours straight. Which in itself is not bad, but for some reason, it has lasted longer for me. I think as the battery weakens to a slightly lower voltage, the resistance to the circuit goes up, so the flow of current slows down, thus lasting much longer. I'm not sure if thats true, but it seems to be.

Got my cap today Marcus, excellent work...thanks again.  I left you some positive feedback over at your Ecrater store.  I'm going to try and get Freetrack installed and setup in a while and see how this bad boy works.

Hi, I am thinking about buy one of your hats, and I was wondering if there was an on/off switch or if just have to remove the battery?

Currently there is no switch, but if you find a AA battery holder that has a switch  built in, let me know. I found some that are 2 AA battery holders, and they have a cover too. I haven't been able to find them for singles yet.

Thanks for your interest!

I put in something thin between the batterie and the connector. Like a plastic card or somthing, and it works great as a switch  :)  Anyway im happy i dont have to mess with unplug the batterie everytime im stop playing games.  :pirate:
Cheers!
