NEVER SAND SFH485Ps
THESE ARE ALREADY WIDE ANGLE LEDS
By sanding them, you only loose a bit on light, but you won't gain view angle.
You only sand narrow angle leds, to widen angle.

Ok. I have made an other set up with leds powered at 50mA.
It seems that they are still too bright. It blinds away my webcam at night but during the day FreeTrack can lock the 3 dots with low exposure BUT the program crashes randomly.
And an other issue, when I set the exposure too low (so that the dots aren't too big) I get "waves" and the dots dissapear and appear again very fast all the time. So Freetrack loses the dots all the time. Any idea ?

Adding a VL filter should do the trick.
Try the piece of floppy disk, or a piece of radiographic sheet
this way , you'll bring the led lights back to your brightness adjust range , and will also cutout daylight.
