Hi Marcus,

I placed my order on the 17th August. It would be great to hear a status update.

Regards,

I would like to order one ofthese caps, but could you tell me what your turn around is on them. Do I have to wait 2-3 weeks or longer? Thanks

I want to order one of your caps. Do you really are still in business? Please answer before placing order. It seems in the forum here that since first of September you are not answering.

Please confirm if you are available for placing orders.

Any other who sells these?

thanks.

I'm starting to worry that Marcus isn't coming back. I placed my order on the 17th of August, and haven't received the cap or heard anything from Marcus.

I wouldn't recommend anyone else placing an order with Marcus until he returns to the forum and let's us know what's happening.

If I haven't heard anything in the next week or so then I'm going to try to reclaim my paypal payment.

It's a real shame, as it looked like Marcus was building up a nice little business here. :(

Ooooooh!   :snif:

I want one of those. Anyone else would create one for all of us who could not arrive at time for Marcus toys!?

thanks.

Off line Www

I edited the first page of this post. I hope you'll get some news quite quickly. As long as we don't know if Marcus is still selling is cap, no one should place an order...

sillysilly @ 14/08/2008 - 05h37 a dit:

From the pics you've shown, it seems that the LEDs are fitted UNDER the brim of the cap.  I'm just a little concerned that I might get some of that bright LED light shining into my eyes, which might not be healthy
EDIT:  I just went to the order page and read that the LED's emit no visible light.

That's a really good question and after googling a little, I found out that although infrared light is not visible, it can be bad for our eyes. Just like ultraviolet but in less powerful.

Technical details:
From what I read, it seems that because IR light is not visible, pupils do not retract when receiving light and retina remains unprotected. Wavelength above 750nm seem harmful and the LEDs used here use 880nm waves from the datasheet.

I guess an improvement could be done in this area and this cap will be almost perfect ;) I hope Marcus will come back soon and I'll definitely order one.

EDIT: A few more search and I realize the LEDs only transmit light within an angle of 160°. Then there is probably already no radiation toward the eyes in the current design.

It might be viable to reduce the back-scatter of IR light by simply putting some shrink wrap over the LED, or alternatively, paint.  Any IR light hitting your face will also confuse the camera if it is bright enough.

How hard is it going to be for those of us that already paid for a hat reclaim our payment from paypal. Do they make you jump through a lot of hoops?

Just to let you know that after sending an email to Markus asking for his Cap 3 days ago, today I got a reply from him with the shipping cost and the estimate date of arrival to my country.  :D

Therefore we can say he is still in business!...

I ordered mine today.  ;)

Tell him we would like a response here too. I placed my order 3 weeks ago and have not heard a thing. I guess it's promising that you heard something but I would feel much better hearing from the man himself.
