Hi !

You don't need PPjoy anymore ! ;) Just check the option "FS2004-FSUIPC" in the output tab and you'll get it working.

There is an autoinstaller : Start -> All Programs -> FreeTrack -> (I don't recall the name, but it won't be hard to find it ;) ).

Try that :)

is PPy joy the only way to make fs2004 work, can you use other controllers with it? I did do a search and tried all the checking in the free-track program after install

If everything were working well, you wouldn't have to use PPJoy... I don't know where is the problem...
Wait for someone to help you or if you still want to try PPJoy, check the handbook.
And yes, you can use other controllers, no problem with that ;) !

Flight Simulator displays the 2D Cockpit View by default, this must be changed to the Virtual Cockpit View for tracking to work.

If installed correctly an FSUIPC menu should appear in the Flight Simulator window menu.

If it is installed correctly and it still doesn't work, try renaming/deleting the FSUIPC.ini file in the Modules directory to clear user settings. Also create a log file via the Flight Simulator FSUIPC menu options.

The 'WRITE0 (failed, read-only!) 330A' entry in the log is normal when FSUIPC is trying to connect.

A Quick Start For Beginners:  :D
(I also had to try a while to get this figured out)

Assumed: FreeTrack is installed and working.

Included with FT there is a FSUIPC.exe that will install the .dll to FS2004. Install-Path is the FS2004 Directory - the installer finds the \modules path itself. This .dll provides a way for programs to communicate with FS2004.

Run FreeTrack and choose the FS2004 Profile. So in "Output" there is fsuipc.dll checked. Minimize FT.

Start FS2004 and press "C" to Change your View to "Virtual Cockpit".
If FS2004 loaded the .dll you see a "Modules"-Entry in the MenuBar.
It should work now!

If not, try it without Joystick and also without Mod's.

Edit: Using the Joystick and the Webcam on the same USB-Hub can cause troubles. (Thanx Kestrel)
