When I try to check my tracking in Cam mode it will crashes every time. It works okay when I'm in Setup. I'm trying to run it on a HP Pavilian laptop with Vista, using the built in web cam.

Is it possible to use with built in webcam? Using visual light filter and testing with TV remote blacks out almost everything with a bright point of light for the remote. But will not realy track at all.

Also multiple red dots will crash program too.

Well a few things there...

Can anyone help??

Thanks

What video codec/colorspace is the built-in cam using? eg I420, RGB24, YUYV

Check the FAQ and forums for 'NAN error' for getting around the 3 point cap tracking limitation.

Hey I Just got a Microsoft, VX-1000 I did not remove its IR filter. I'm using it with 3 layers of exposed film as a visable light filter and I'm tracking a Red LED bike light setup. It is working brilliantly! So maybe the HP pavilian internal web cam is not compatable with free track for some reason. I have no more problems with Vista Crashing and as I said it is tracking brilliantly. If you had the same problem as me you mat want to try an external web cam...

Hope this helps, thanks for the intrest Kestral... now to rig a 3 point set up... can't wait to see future applications for head tracking...

I am also using my intigrated webcam on an acer aspire 5920G, free tracks work well in the dark because filter is stil in the cam.

I am thinking of taking the can apart to see if its possible to remove the filter, anyone has expierience whith this?

For the crashes, no serious problems now and then it crashes or i cannot move  the head or it only move on the x axis.

But its rocks on flight sims!

Looking forward to 2.2 so i can try my bought wii remote spacially for this :D !

Thanks
