I am using the SFH485p with usb connector.  The only place around I can find any resistors are at raido shack.  They do not have the 5.1 ohms 1/4w 5% resistors.  They have close to 5.1 but in 1/2w not 1/4w.  Can I use a 1/2w resistor?  How does it compair to a 1/4w?

Also they have some with a K and some with an M like 100K ohms or 100M ohms.  I can not find anything to tell me what the K or M mean or how they compair to each other.

Hi,

take this one:

http://www.radioshack.com/10-ohm-1-4w-5-carbon-film-resistor-pk-5/2711301.html#prefn1=productType&start=13&sz=12&prefv1=1%2F4-watt+resistors

10 Ohm is sufficient for 5V.
There is no difference between in using 1/4 and 1/2W in this case, as you never exceed 250mW for your circuit.

Ok thanks for the information.  I just might have this thing up and running today.
