Bonjour,

- téléchargé, installé dans le répertoire de FS2004, et exécuté le fichier d'update de FS 2004 en version 9.1;

Merci d'avancepour votre aide.

Jean-Philippe

FreeTrack -> Output -> "FS2004/2002 FSUIPC" checkbox is ticked?

Do you have any 3rd party modules that affect the view (eg ActiveCamera)?

Are you using a Saitek joystick with POV hatswitch?

Start FreeTrack tracking and then:
FS9 -> Modules -> FSUIPC -> Logging -> IPC Writes checkbox  <- tick it and then post the contents of FSUIPC.log found in the modules directory.

Hello Kestrel!
Thanks for your answer.

FreeTrack -> Output -> "FS2004/2002 FSUIPC" checkbox is ticked?
-> Yes, this checkbox is already ticked.

Do you have any 3rd party modules that affect the view (eg ActiveCamera)?
-> No, I only use one module in FS2004 : FSUIPC.

Are you using a Saitek joystick with POV hatswitch?
-> Yes, I use one : on my Saitek "Pro flight yoke system", I have a POV hatswitch. If I understand, it prevents freetrack from working, doesn't it? What can I do to disable my POV hatswitch?

Start FreeTrack tracking and then:
FS9 -> Modules -> FSUIPC -> Logging -> IPC Writes checkbox  <- tick it and then post the contents of FSUIPC.log found in the modules directory.
-> Done.  Here's its content :

Le même post traduit en français :

Bonjour Kestrel!
Merci de m'avoir répondu.

FreeTrack -> Output -> La checkbox "FS2004/2002 FSUIPC" est-elle cochée?
-> Oui.

********* FSUIPC, Version 3.75 by Pete Dowson *********
(contenu du fichier)
********* FSUIPC Log file closed ***********

If you setup FSUIPC to log writes then the log file should be similar to this:

This indicates that FSUIPC in FS9 is receiving the FreeTrack data. The communication is done via shared memory so it shouldn't be blocked by anything.

The Saitek joystick problem has only been reported with FSX (which uses the SimConnect interface), uninstalling the joystick drivers was the only way to get it working.

As-tu d'autres suggestions?

Kestrel,

as you can see in my previous post, the log file is much more interesting since I  unticked the checkbox "Direct Game Interface". Is it an issue?

Can you suggest me anything else to make my Saitek Yoke System work with FS2004? All the buttons are currently well programmed thanks to the driver, and it's a very nice "joystick".

If there's no other way out, I'll uninstall the driver and try to program my joystick manually...

I'm very interesting in other pieces of advice, if you have some.

Thanks a lot,

Jean-Philippe

The Direct Game Interface checkbox doesn't affect FS9+FSUIPC for me (nor should it, being completely independent).

The only way to be sure the joystick drivers are not part of the problem is to uninstall them.

Birarre, bizarre...

The same post in English, for my great helper Kestrel.

First, I unstalled the Saitek driver, and I rebooted my PC : it still doesn't work.

I installed and configured ppjoy, as I didn't know what else to do : I've been able to configure the tree axis of my virtual joystick in FS2004 configuration menu ! The game can see my head moves, at this time! But surprisingly, when I launch the flight and the cockpit appears, my head moves still don't operate, like with the FSUIPC module.

How is it possible? Any idea?

Try using the standard mouse output and see if that works while in-game.

Have you tried running FS in a window with FreeTrack open as well so that you can be sure it is tracking correctly while in-game?

What is your webcam make and model? Is it a Logitech?

Hello!

I won't be able to try this tonight. I'll try tomorrow.

Do you mean having freetrack window opened, and then launching FS2004? Yes, I did it several times.

What is your webcam make and model? Is it a Logitech?

Funny how you can find my accessories' manufacturers from my troubles  ^^ (Saitek, then Logitech). Yes, this is a Logitech QuickCam Connect. Is it a problem?

Hi again!

Finally, I tried again tonight.

First, I thought of desactivating the couple of software firewalls which were running on my PC : nothing better in FS2004.

Then I tried what you suggested me, Kestrel : I ticked the "mouse" checkbox : Freetrack immediately took control of my mouse cursor, both under Windows XP and under FS2004. But the image still doesn't move under FS2004, whatever output checkbox I tick.

Finally, I stopped a mouse and keyboard software provided by Logitech, but it still doesn't change anything in FS2004.

That's all for tonight.  :)
I'm still motivated in making freetrack run on my PC, more than at any time!
