FreeTrack just installed, double click on .exe file and program ask me a .dll.
After selected a dll and clicked on "OK" a critical error appear :

"Access violation at address 004B2E79 in module 'FreeTrack.exe'.Read of address 00000000"

This error appear in a message box with a red X and I can just click OK button.

After that freetrack start on main panel, but another critical error appear:

"Access violation at address 0049401C in module 'FreeTrack.exe'.Read of address 00000228"

Clicking on OK message box disappear but if I  click any pushbutton of freetrack nothing happen.

Now Another similar error appear if I try to close the program and the only way to close is the task manager.

Can someone help me?

bye ,

Paperinik

hi,

try this :

build a new text file and name it freetrack.reg
put this inside

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NaturalPoint\NATURALPOINT\NPClient Location]
"Path"="C:\\Program Files\\FreeTrack\\"

after that double click on this text file and registry will be update ...

after register filter (use freetrack 2.0 filter menu to select filter)

and now you can launch freetrack and tell us result ...

Tks babasior, but problem it's still there:

build a new text file and name it freetrack.reg
put this inside

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NaturalPoint\NATURALPOINT\NPClient Location]
"Path"="C:\\Program Files\\FreeTrack\\"

after that double click on this text file and registry will be update ...

done!
I don't used default directory installation, and in a "Path" field I modified like mine. Double slash are needed?

after register filter (use freetrack 2.0 filter menu to select filter)

This step it's not very clear for me:
I used utility in start menu "Filter registry install" and the filter was registered correctly.
You say "select", what do you mean?

tks again

Edit:

Browsing my registry (with regedit) I saw that the path that you previously told me was installed correcly (double slash are needed  ;)  ) and I found one previosly installation of Naturalpoint TrackIr (my friend borrow me I used it few weeks). I unistalled Naturalpoint software, (but in registry  it's still there) can that disturb FreeTrack?

Hi Bjorn,

no, I don't use Vista, but Win XP pro SP2.
But the problem seem to be the same.
I checked on registry and I have FreeTrackFilter correctly installed.

I'm the single user of windows XP and I'm the administrator but:

If I right-click on freetrack.exe file, I can choose from menu "Start as..." (I dont know correct translation, my XP is in italian language  :D ) next I can select my user name or name "Administrator"

Strange, also my user name is registered as admin!
If I select Admin, XP ask also a password that I don't have!  :snif:

Yes Yes !

yes !

If doesn't work try :
To uninstall all trackir drivers !
uninstall all freetrack version.

and install freetrack last version !

Is your Directx 9.0c version is up to date ?

your webcam driver must working in WDM mode (if not or if you work with VFW webcam driver, it could crash freetrack ...)
